Umpire in Chief Rules of Engagement
The Umpire in Cheif (UIC) may also serve as a coach in the league. In the case this situation arises, the following rules of engagement govern how this potential conflict of interest shall be handled during a league game.
- The UIC should not meet with any umpire during the course of the game to discuss any aspects pertinent to the outcome of the game (e.g. calls, rules, time limits, etc) without an opposing coach present
- The UIC may not provide feedback (umpire evaluation, bad call, good call, etc.) on any calls to the umpire crew until the game is complete
- The UIC should not overturn any judgment calls that are made by the umpire crew
- The UIC should not provide any information about rules to the umpire crew without being asked by an opposing coach and the umpire crew directly
